The Brodie Lodge Playing Field trustees were saddened to hear of the passing of John Hodgkinson of Spring Lane.
John was voted in as Chairman when the Charity was officially formed in February 1999, and he remained chairman until 2010, whilst his wife, Jill, also served for a long period as a trustee.
When John stepped down as a trustee on the 17th December, 2010, a big "farewell" party was held for him in the Chapel schoolroom.
As well as being the first leader of the trustees John also oversaw the kitchen extension, the start of the car boot sales and he was an initiator of the 200 Club along with his friend and fellow trustee Bill Sandham.
John will be greatly missed by all of us who knew him well.
