Weedon FC Under11s team has made history by winning the Northampton County Cup for the first time in the club’s history. The team defeated TFA Blacks U11’s 2-1 in a thrilling final hosted at Cogenhoe United that kept the fans on the edge of their seats with a couple of amazing goals from Jude Winter-Gardner and Cairo Cruz. Cairo scored the winning goal in the last few minutes of the game, which sparked wild celebrations
among the players, coaches, and supporters.
The success was not an overnight phenomenon, but the result of a season of hard work and dedication by the young players, parents, and coaching staff. This was also possible due to the support from the wider Weedon and Flore communities working together to ensure the Weedon U11’s were able to utilise the fabulous facilities at Flore Brodie Lodge playing fields, which played a major role hosting various matches that led up to the County Cup Final. The team's coach, Dean Gardner, said that the county cup win was a testament to the team's spirit and resilience, and highlights the positive impact when village communities work together.
